Price Earns 1st Win of Season, Red Sox Beat Baltimore 5-2

David Price earns his first win of the season
David Price gave up one run, three hits and struck out seven en route to his first win of the season on Saturday night when the Red Sox beat the Orioles 5-2 in Baltimore. 

Price made his second start of the season after beginning the year on the disabled list with a strained left elbow. He did not allow a runner past first base until the 7th inning. 

The win improves the Red Sox to 30-25 on the season puts them in sole possession of second place in the AL East.

Hanley Ramirez Comes Through

The Red Sox grabbed the lead for good in the fourth inning when Ramirez hit a two-run home run into left field off Baltimore pitcher Dylan Bundy to give Boston a 2-0 lead. The home run was Ramirez’s seventh of the season and fourth against Baltimore. 

Baltimore’s Manny Machado hit a home run off Price in the 7th to cut Boston’s lead to 2-1, but Boston would get it back in the 8th. 

After Betts scored on a fielders choice, Ramirez hit a double to left field to score Xander Bogaerts and give the Red Sox a 4-1 lead. 

Boston would add another run in the top of the 9th to take a 5-1 lead in the game. 

Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel came on in the ninth inning and gave up a run, but would go on to pick up his 16th save in 17 tries.

The series concludes on Sunday, June 4 at 1:35 p.m. 

The pitching matchup is Boston’s Chris Sale against Baltimore’s Chris Tillman.
