Spieth's 21 Second Half Points Carries Brown Past Maine 82-77

Steven Spieth pours in 27 points to lead Brown to a win.
With his brother Jordan in attendance, Steven Spieth poured in a career-high 27 points, 21 in the second half, to lead the Brown Bears to an 82-77 win over the University of Maine on Thursday afternoon at the Pizzitola Center.

Brown has now won seven of their last eight games and improves to 8-5 overall. The eight non-conference wins are the second most wins in Brown basketball history behind the nine non-conference wins by the 2001-02 team. This year's squad has three non-conference games left and has a chance to set the all-time mark.

"I'm proud of the team, especially our three seniors, who led the way and didn't get down after a tough first half. With 55 points in the second half, you really have to like your offense.  I'm really happy that we were able to get the free throw line 36 times," said Brown head coach Mike Martin after the game.
