The URI Basketball Schedule - What we Know, So Far

The URI men's basketball schedule has not been released yet but it is becoming a little bit clearer with the announcement of the conference home and away match ups by the Atlantic 10 earlier this week.

The Rams, as well as the rest of the conference, will play an 18 game conference schedule, facing each opponent once and five teams twice.

URI will face five teams both at home and on the road with those teams being Davidson, Dayton, La Salle, Massachusetts, and Saint Joseph's.

The Rams will face St. Bonaventure, VCU, George Washington and Fordham at the Ryan Center only.

Lastly, URI will play road games only against Duquesne, George Mason, Richmond, and Saint Louis.

Rest of the Schedule - What we Know

While URI's full schedule has not been released, it can pieced together a little bit.

The Rams will participate in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament where they will host Marist on November 14 and Brown on November 16.

URI will then face Cincinnati at Mohegan Sun Arena on November 19 with the potential to play Duke in the Championship game on November 20 at Mohegan Sun.

It is also known that the Rams will face in-state rival Providence College on Saturday, December 3 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

URI will release the remainder of their schedule including dates and opponents at a later time.

URI Looking to Bounce Back

Last season, the Rams went 17-15 overall and 9-9 in the A-10 after losing star guard E.C. Matthews in the first game of the season and sitting A-10 Defensive Player of the Year Hassan Martin for the final four games of the season with knee tendonitis.

In 2016-17, URI will one of the favorites to win the A-10 Conference and get back to the NCAA Tournament.

The Rams will return E.C. Matthews, Hassan Martin, Jared Terrell, Jarvis Garrett and Kuran Iverson while transfer Stanford Robinson will be eligible to play.
