URI's Hassan Martin converted a layup with 50 seconds left to give the Rams a 63-62 lead. Martin was fouled on the play but missed the free throw to keep the Rams lead at only one point. The Rams got the defensive stop that they needed, and Martin went to the free throw line again, but only converted on one of two shots from the charity stripe.
On Saint Joseph's last possession, the Hawk's Chris Wilson buried a second chance three pointer. Wilson missed his first attempt, but Aaron Brown grabbed the offensive board and kicked it back out to Wilson for the game winner.

Buchanan's six points came on 3-of-7 shooting from the field.
Jared Terrell
Jared Terrell has been playing great for URI over the last couple of games however this game was not one of them.
Terrell played 20 minutes and had two points on 1-of-5 shooting from the field to go with one rebound and one assist. Terrell's two points came in the first half.
This performance comes off a his game against Richmond in which he did not score a point and only took one shot.
E.C. Matthews
E.C. Matthews led URI with 17 points in the game but only converted on 4-of-14 shots from the field, including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc.
Six of Matthews points came from the free throw line where he was a perfect 6-of-6.
Matthews also dished out four assists, grabbed three rebounds and had two steals
Points in the Paint
URI did a solid job of getting to the paint and converting when they got there.
The Rams had 32 points in the paint, exactly half of the Rams total points in the game.
URI shot 42% from the field overall and it's a good thing they were effective in the paint because they struggled from beyond the arc, going 5-of-17 from long range.
URI needs to continue to attack the paint as the season begins to wind down and tournament play begins.
2nd chance Game winner
On Saint Joseph's last possession, the Hawk's Chris Wilson buried a second chance three pointer. Wilson missed his first attempt, but Aaron Brown grabbed the offensive board and kicked it back out to Wilson for the game winner.
Overall, URI was good on the glass, pulling down 34 rebounds, 23 on the defensive end. However, it was the one defensive rebound that they did not get that ended up costing them in this game.
