NEW: Providence is 5th Worst for Finding a Job in US

Providence has been ranked as the 5th worst city for finding a job in the United States, according to a recent study done by WalletHub.

Providence was ranked 146 out of 150, and is ahead of Modesto, California and Detroit, Michigan at 147 and 148 respectively. Providence ranks behind Ontario, California and Newark, New Jersey at 144 and 145 respectively.

Providence has a job market rank of 146 and a socioeconomic ranking of 91, according to the study.

Plano, Texas ranks as the best city to find a job according to the study while Stockton California is the worst city in the country to find a job.

The Study

In order to come up with the rankings, WalletHub compared the 150 most populated cities across the country using two key dimensions, "Job Market" and "Socioeconomic Environment."

WalletHub then put together 17 relevant metrics, with each metric given a value between 0 and 100, 100 being the best value.
