Police responded to Atwells Avenue for a report of an assault shortly after 1 AM on Tuesday morning.

The victim, a male in his 40s, told police he had been at Deadbeats Bar on Knight Street, when three men started a fight with him over a song he selected on the jukebox.

According to the victim, the suspects — while males in their 30s — dragged him outside and began assaulting him.

Police said they observed a cut on the victim’s chin that was still bleeding and severe swelling on the side of his face.

The victim was taken by rescue to Rhode Island Hospital for his injuries.
