NEW: State Says Providence Art Festival Violates Coronavirus Restrictions

Governor Gina Raimondo's administration has ruled that the PVD Artisans Market scheduled for June 6 at Lippitt Park on the East Side of Providence is not allowed.

In an email to GoLocalProv, Commerce RI's spokesman Matt Sheaff said, "At this time, this event would not be allowed as events with more than 15 people are not allowed in Phase II. However, we are exploring options and potential guidance that would allow for outdoor retail to occur in the next couple of weeks.”

Arts festivals across the state have canceled their events due to Raimondo's executive orders.

PVD Artisans Market Opening Day!

Hello Artists And Art lovers! We have been asked again by the City of Providence to postpone our opening day, so stay tuned! So for now we intend to post weekly regarding opening day, now hoping for SATURDAY, JUNE 13. 9am to 2pm. Once open, we intend to always be conscious of health first and following all guidelines to ensure safety for all, including masks, distancing of booths and customers, hand sanitizer stations and a oneway shopping experience! Our little artisans market is a great model and an example to help create scaled-down versions of Rhode Island Art Festivals and Flea Markets until we are all up and running in full!
