Shots Fired Into House in Providence - Multiple Shooters, Say Police

Shots were into a house in Providence early Friday morning.

The incident occurred on Praire Avenue shortly before 6 AM.

Providence Police Major David Lapatin said there were multiple shooters.

“Multiple shots were fired,” said Lapatin. 

Lapatain added that there were occupants in the residence at the time of the shooting but no one was injured. 

 

Latest in City 

The shooting comes on the heels of another residence shot at in the city.

As GoLocal reported, on March 1, police responded to Beacon Street for a report of  gunfire hitting a residence - and two victims. 

Police say a male victim in his 30s had a gunshot wound to his leg; a woman in her 30s also had a gunshot wound to her leg. 

According to police, three children under the age of 5 were in the residence at the time of the shooting and were unharmed.
