Two People Shot in Providence - 3 Children in House When Gunfire Hit Residence

Two people were shot in Providence overnight, when a residence was hit with gunfire. 

According to police, officers on patrol heard shots in the area of Point Street and I-95 - and then received a call for multiple victims.

About Incident

Shortly before 1 AM on Saturday, police responded to Beacon Street for the report of the shooting - and two victims. 

Police say a male victim in his 30s had a gunshot wound to his leg; a woman in her 30s also had a gunshot wound to her leg. 

According to police, three children under the age of 5 were in the residence at the time of the shooting and were unharmed. 

Police said that a bullet hole was found in another apartment in the building and multiple spent shell casings were found in the street.

The victims’ injuries are reportedly non-life threatening.
