GOP candidate Allan Fung’s newest TV commercial unveils his new energy plan in his effort to win the open second congressional seat.
Energy costs are rocketing. OPEC+ has cut oil exports setting gasoline prices shooting upward. In Rhode Island, the Public Utilities Commission approved RI Energy's filing for a 47% increase in electricity costs. And, RI Energy has a pending request for approval for a 15% in natural gas prices.
Is Fung's energy plan commercial filmed at a windmill or solar farm — nope. Does it have a homeowner tearing up the electric bill in frustration, oh no.

While Fung's Democratic opponent Seth Magaziner is blitzing Fung on abortion and ties to potential GOP House Speaker-to-be Kevin McCarthy, Fung's messaging is all Rhode Island, all local and a lot of food.
Fung's messaging stays away from President Joe Biden and does not address former President Donald Trump.
It is all subliminally tied to the iconic foods of Rhode Island -- the shared experience.

Cranston Recovery
Another one of his political TV spots highlights his tenure as Mayor of Cranston — it focuses on what he has dubbed the “Cranston Miracle.”
That spot is complete with a construction worker downing a Newport Creamery Awful, Awful.
Big Time Fundraiser
At this time of year, cash is king for political candidates. Fundraising is critical to keep the campaign staff paid and the commercial running. Fung's next big fundraiser is a $ 30-a-person clam cake and chowder event at Iggy's.
The price is discounted to $50 a couple.

It has been 30 years since a Republican held the second Congression seat in RI. And Fung is doing everything possible to avoid discussions about Trump, McCarthy, abortion or guns.
Fung is about running as your Mayor and the guy you want to sit down with and grab a meal with.
And, the eat goes on.
