The rally began at Classical High School in Providence and was followed by a march through the southside of the city.

GoLocal’s Richard McCaffrey was there to capture the event.

“Trump ran a campaign promising to stand up for working people against the elite. But Trump’s planned policies and appointed advisors make it clear that he really serves the billionaires’ interests. While Trump wants to blame our problems on immigrants and other nations, the people of Rhode Island know that the real culprits are the tiny handful of extremely rich people, such as Trump’s cabinet members, who control the wealth that the working class creates,” said the groups in a statement

The groups represented included PSL -Party for Socialism and Liberation, Palestinian Feminist Collective, AMOR - Alliance to Mobilize Our Resistance, People’s Port Authority, DARE - Direct Action for Rights and Equality, The Olneyville Neighborhood Association, Jewish Voice for Peace RI, Graduate Labor Organization,  Rhode Island College Students for Justice in Palestine, Black & Pink, Falasteen Diaspora United, Brown Divest Coalition, CPUSA-RI, PVD TGNB Community Group, Brown School of Public Health for Palestine, PrYSM - Providence Youth Student Movement, Womxn Project, Dominican Students at Brown, SURJ - Showing Up for Racial Justice.
