5 Takeaways From PC's 74-64 Win Over Evansville

The Providence College Friars men's basketball team (5-0) defeated the (3-1) Evansville Highlanders 74-64 on Thursday night in California. The game was the Friars first round game in the Wooden Legacy Tournament.

With the game tied at 24 with 6:30 left in the first half, the Friars went on a 10-2 run to take a 34-26 lead. Ben Bentil scored the first six of the Friars ten points during the run.

Providence would take a 40-32 lead into the locker room at half time and would open the second half with an 11-0 run, sparked by Kris Dunn and Junior Lomomba, to go up 51-32. 

Evansville would make runs but were not able to get closer than ten points the rest of the way. 

The Leaders 

The Friars were led by sophomore Ben Bentil who netted a career high 24 points and also pulled down eight rebounds. Bentil went to the free throw line 11 times and knocked down ten shots. 

Kris Dunn followed up with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists in the game. 

Next Up 

The Friars advance to the semi finals and will face #11 Arizona tonight at 11:30 p.m. eastern time. The game will be shown on ESPN2.
