With the game tied at 24 with 6:30 left in the first half, the Friars went on a 10-2 run to take a 34-26 lead. Ben Bentil scored the first six of the Friars ten points during the run.

Evansville would make runs but were not able to get closer than ten points the rest of the way.
The Leaders
The Friars were led by sophomore Ben Bentil who netted a career high 24 points and also pulled down eight rebounds. Bentil went to the free throw line 11 times and knocked down ten shots.
Kris Dunn followed up with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists in the game.
Next Up
The Friars advance to the semi finals and will face #11 Arizona tonight at 11:30 p.m. eastern time. The game will be shown on ESPN2.

Bench
Not a great night for the PC bench. Jalen Lindsey scored two points off the bench in 20 minutes of play and that was it for the bench scoring.
Quadree Smith only played two minutes and didn't have a point while Kyron Cartwright played 14 minutes and did not have a point.
PC got away with it in this game due to Ben Bentil's big night but they need something from bench players on a consistant basis.
Junior Lomomba
Junior Lomomba is not known for his offense but in the game against Evansville he contributed 13 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the field, giving the Friars a nice boost.
Lomomba also grabbed three rebounds and had two assists in the game.
Kris Dunn
Kris Dunn got off to shakey start in this game with a couple of turnovers and foul trouble early on.
However, he managed to turn things around late in the first half and into the second for a total of 18 points on 7 of 15 shooting from the field.
Dunn also had 6 rebounds, 5 assists, three steals and one blocked shot in the game.
Free Throws
A huge factor in the game was free throws. Providence made 23 of 29 free throws in the game while Evansville only got to the line 11 times and made five free throws.
Ben Bentil shot the same number of free throws that the entire Evansville team.
PC shot 79 % from the free throw line in the game.

When Paschal Chukwu decided to transfer to Syracuse in the offseason, it appeared the Friars were going to be challenged up front, and maybe they still will be once the Big East games come around but for the moment, Ben Bentil is doing a heck of a job.
Against Evansville, Bentil led the Friars with a career high 24 points while also grabbing eight rebounds.
