Brown Falls 77-74 to Saint Francis-Brooklyn

The Brown Bears men’s basketball team suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday, falling to St. Francis-Brooklyn 77-74 at the Pope Physical Education Center.

Brown drops to 2-1 on the season.

After trailing by as much as ten early in the second half, Brown tied the game at 66 on two free throws by sophomore guard Zach Hunsaker with 3:56 left to play. Brown took a 69-68 lead after a Brandon Anderson three with 3:13 left on the clock.

However,Terriers would take the lead for good, 70-69, with 2:18 left after two free throws by Rasheem Dunn, followed by a Jalen Jordan three for a 73-69 lead with 1:19 left to go.

Anderson's two free throws pulled Brown to within one point, 75-74, with 33.5 seconds remaining.

Saint Francis’ Glenn Sanabria knocked down two free-throws with 4.5 seconds left, to give the Terriers a 77-74 lead.

Anderson had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but his 30-foot three missed.

Anderson led Brown for the third straight game, pouring in 21 points. 

Next up

The Bears return to action Wednesday, November 22 when they visit Stony Brook.

Game time is set for 6 p.m.
