Brown Falls in Ivy League Opener to Yale, 80-62

The Brown Bears men's basketball team (9-9, 0-1 IVY) fell 80-62 to the (12-6, 1-0) Yale Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at the PIzzitola center in the first game of Ivy League play.

The Bears led 25-24 with seven minutes left in the first half before Yale ripped off a 13-2 run to go up 37-27 and followed that up with a 10-3 run to close out the first half, leading 47-31 as the teams went to the locker room.

The Bulldogs were never threatened by Brown in the second half and cruised to the conference play opening victory. 

Brown was led by Leland King who netted 18 points in the game while Rafael Maia grabbed 12 rebounds. 

The Bulldogs were led by Javier Duran who had a game high 19 points. 

Brown returns to action on Saturday, January 24 when they visit the same Yale Bulldogs. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
