Brown Falls to Penn 99-93 in Season Finale

The Brown Bears men’s basketball team closed its 2017-18 season with a 99-93 loss to Penn on Saturday night at the Pizzitola Center.

Brown finishes the season with a record of 11-16 overall and 4-10 in the Ivy League.

The Bears trailed by as much as 22 points in the second half, 71-49, before rallying to within seven points, 92-85, on a jump shot by Brandon Anderson with 44 seconds left in the game.

Brown pulled within four, 97-93, with 1.9 seconds left on a three by senior Jason Massey, but Brown would not be able to complete the comeback.

Massey finished with seven points in his final game at Brown. 

The Quakers knocked down nine-of-ten free throws in the final minute to seal the win.

Brown was led by Tamenang Choh and Anderson, who each poured in 23 points.

Choh also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out six assists.

The Quakers shot 56 % from three, while holding Brown to just 32% shooting.
