Brown's Comeback Falls Short, Lose 78-72 to Yale in Ivy League Opener

The Brown Bears go 22 points from Brandon Anderson but fell 78-72 to Yale in their Ivy League opener on Friday night in New Haven, Connecticut.

The loss drops Brown to 7-7 overall and 0-1 in the Ivy League.

Brown’s Comeback Falls Short

The Bears trailed by as much as eight points midway through the second half before pulling to within two on a free throw by Desmond Cambridge with 54 seconds to play.

On the defensive side of the floor, Anderson drew a charge giving Brown the ball back with 36 left in the game. That offensive possession ended with Obi Okoli knocking down one of two free throws to cut Yale’s lead to 73-72 with 26 seconds left to play.

Brown converted just 18 of 31 free throws in the game.

Yale would convert five of their final six free throws to seal the 78-72 win.

The Bears return to action on Friday, January 19 when they host Yale at the Pizzitola Center.

Game time is set for 8 p.m.
