With the game tied at one in the second period, Tampa Bay’s Tyler Johnson fired a shot that beat Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask to put the Lightning up 2-1.

Tampa Bay would add to their lead early in the third period when Ondrej Palat scored off a pass from Brayden Point to put the Lightning up 3-1.

Boston would cut their deficit back to one, 3-2, on a wrist shot by defenseman Torey Krug with just over four minutes left to play in the game.

Boston would pressure in the final minutes, including a partial breakaway by Brad Marchand,  but were unable to score.

Point would add an empty net goal to seal Tampa Bay’s 4-2 win.

In the final two minutes of the period, Boston’s Charlie McAvoy would tie the game at one.

The goal was the first of McAvoy’s NHL playoff career.
