Bruins Eliminated From Playoffs Following 3-1 Loss to Tampa in Game 5

The Boston Bruins playoff came to an end on Sunday afternoon. 

The Bruins fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-1 in game 5 of their second-round playoff series, giving the Lightning the 4-1 series win. 

Tampa Bay will now move on to face either Pittsburgh or Washington in the Eastern Conference Final.

Bruins Fall to Tampa 

The Bruins got on the board first when David Krejci scored on a power play to put the Bruins up 1-0 in the first period.

From there, it was all Tampa.

In the second, Tampa’s Brayden Point took advantage of a turnover by Boston's Kevin Miller and found the back of the net to tie the game at one 10:43 into the period.

Four minutes later, Tampa’s J.T. Miller scored on the power play to give Tampa Bay a 2-1 lead with six minutes left in the period.

Anton Stralman added an empty-net goal in the final 1:30 to seal the win. 

Scoring Struggles 

Throughout the series, the Bruins struggled to score goals at even-strength. 

In the final three games of the series, Boston did not score one even-strength goal. 

Their last even-strength goal came in game two of the series.
