Final Seconds Heroics Lifts Yale Over Brown 69-65

The Brown Bears men's basketball team (9-10, 0-2 IVY) fell 69-65 on the road to (13-6, 2-0 IVY) Yale on Saturday afternoon in Connecticut. The Bears have now lost two straight and three of their last four games.

Brown's Tavon Blackmon tied the game up at 65 on a layup with 18 seconds left to play in the game. On Yale's next possession, Javier Duran took the ball and held onto it in the Brown end as the clock ticked down. Duran made his move with about 10 seconds to go and buried a jump shots with four seconds left in the game to give Yale a 67-65 lead.

Brown had a chance to answer but Steven Spieth turned the ball over. Yale knocked down two free throws and sealed their season series sweep over Brown. 

Rafael Maia led Brown with 18 points, nine rebounds and two assists while Steven Spieth followed up with 17 points, eight rebounds and two assists. 

Yale's Justin Sears led all scorers with 27 points while Javier Duran added 24 for the Bulldogs. 

The Bears return to action on Friday, January 30 when they visit Cornell. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
