Kuakumensah's Career Ends With Brown Loss to Cornell

The Brown Bears (8-20, 3-11 Ivy) fell 75-71 to (10-18, 3-11 Ivy) Cornell on Saturday night in New York, marking the end of the season. The game also marked the final game in the career of Cedric Kuakumensah.

In his final game, Kuakumensah posted his 12th double-double of the season, and his second straight, with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while also blocking three shots.

Kuakumensah ends his career as one of the greatest players in Brown and Ivy League history. 

He is the only player in Ivy League history to score 1,000 points, grab 900 rebounds and block 200 shots. 

Kuakumensah also is the Ivy league all-time leader with 311 blocked shots, while his 1,181 points rank 16th all-time at Brown and his 907 rebounds rank 4th all time. 

The Game 

Brown trailed by as much as 13 points, 53-40, with 11 minutes left in the game before storming back to get within two points, 60-58 with 3:59 to play. 

Cornell would extend their lead back to as much as 7, 68-61 with 1:13 to play before Brown would again cut it to 2, 70-68, on a JR Hobbie three with 44 seconds left. 

Cornell's Matt Morgan hit 5 of 6 free throws down the stretch to seal the win. 

The Leaders 

Kuakumensa led Brown with 21 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field in 32 minutes of action, while Obi Okolie followed up with 17 points on 6 of 12 shooting from the field. 

Season Over 

Brown finishes the season with their worst conference record, 3-11, since the 2011-12 season when they finished 2-12.
