Brown Falls 79-73 at Harvard

The Brown Bears men's basketball team (7-14, 2-5 Ivy) fell 79-73 to (10-13, 2-5 Ivy) Harvard on Friday night in Boston. The Bears have now dropped two straight games. 

Unable to Hold On

Brown led 43-39 with 14:23 to play after a JR Hobbie three-pointer was good.

However, Harvard would proceed to go on a 10-2 run over the next four minutes to take a 49-45 lead.

The lead was Harvard's first since leading 28-27 in the first half. 

Trying to Battle Back 

On Brown's next possession, Steven Spieth would convert on a three to get the Bears back within one, 49-48, but Brown would never get that close again. 

Harvard would respond with a 6-0 run to go up 55-48 with 8:24 to play and managed to keep it a two possession game for the majority of the half. 

The Bears got within three twice, but each time the Crimson would convert on the other end to extend the lead.

The Leaders 

Tavon Blackmon led Brown with 19 points on 6 of 12 shooting from the field while dishing out 6 assists and grabbing 2 rebounds. However, Blackmon had 9 of Brown's 13 turnovers. 

Obi Okolie followed up with 14 points of his own. 

Next up 

Brown will look to bounce back tonight when they visit Dartmouth. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
