PC Basketball Picked to Finish 5th in Big East

Kris Dunn named preseason Player of the Year.
The Providence College Friars men's basketball team was picked by coaches to finish 5th in the Big East this season at the conferences media day on Wednesday morning at Madison Square Garden in New York.

PC's Kris Dunn was named the preseason Player of the Year. Dunn averaged 15.6 points, 7.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds for Providence last season.

Providence was picked just ahead of Marquette  and behind Xavier and Butler. Georgetown was picked to finish second while defending Big East Champion Villanova was picked to finish first, receiving nine first place votes.

Creighton and St. John's were picked to finish ninth and tenth, respectively.

The Friars begin the season on Saturday, November 14th when they host Ivy League power Harvard at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.
