PC Basketball's Big East Schedule Released

The Providence College men's basketball teams 2015-16 Big East basketball schedule was released on Tuesday. The Friars will play each of the nine other conference teams twice, once at home and once on the road. 

PC's Big East Opener will come on December 31 on the road against Butler who the Friars split with last season, winning at Butler but losing at home. 

The Home Schedule

The Friars will thier home conference schedule on Saturday, January 2nd when they host St. John's at the Dunkin' Donuts Center at 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1. The Friars lost to St. John's both times during the regular season last year before beating them in the first round of the Big East tournament.

Other Big East home games include Marquete on January 5th, Seton Hall on January 16th, Butler on January 19th along with home games against Villanova and Georgetown on February 6th and 13th respectively.

The Friars final regular season home game will be against Creighton on March 2nd. Tip-off for that game is set for 9 p.m.

Providence was 13-4 at home last season.

Road Schedule

The Big East road schedule for the Friars features a game against Villanova at Wells Fargo Center, at Xavier and at Seton Hall as well as games against Georgetown and at Marquette where the Friars have historically struggled to win games.

The Friars conclude the regular season on the road against St. John's at Madison Square Garden on March 5th.

PC went 6-6 on the road overall last season.

Seeking 3rd Straight NCAA Tourney Appearence

The Friars come into the 2015-16 season looking to get to thier third straight NCAA Tournament. Last season, Providence went 22-12 overall and received an at-large bid in the tournament. Providence lost to Dayton in the first round.
