Patriots Ranked 3rd Most Valuable Sports Team in The World

The New England Patriots have been ranked as the third most valuable sports team in the world and the second most valuable team in the NFL, according to Forbes Magazine.

The Patriots are valued at $3.2 billion, an increase in value by 23 percent since last season. The Patriots 2014 revenue sits at $494 million and their operating income sits at $195 million. 

The Dallas Cowboys rank as the most valuable team in the world at $4 billion Real Madrid  ranks as second most at $3.26 billion and then the Patriots close behind at $3.2 billion. The New York Yankees and Barcelona finish out the top five.

NFL Ranking

In the NFL, the New England Patriots are behind only the Dallas Cowboys for most valuable franchise. The Washington Redskins ($2.85 billion), New York Giants ($2.8 billion) and San Francisco 49ers ($2.7 billion) round out the top five. 

The least valuable team in the NFL is the Buffalo Bills who Forbes values at $1.4 billion. The Patriots travel to Buffalo on Sunday for game two of the season. 

According to Forbes, the average NFL team is worth $1.97 billion which is 38% more than last year. 

Robert Kraft bought the Patriots for $172 million in 1994.

This i s the 18th year in which Forbes has put together their list and the ninth straight year in which the Dallas Cowboys have been in the top spot.
