PC’s Dual Is Headed to the Portal, According to Reports

There are now two sources reporting that Providence College basketball's Garwey Dual is going to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

First, 24/7 is reporting, “Providence freshman guard Garwey Dual plans to enter the transfer portal, sources told 247Sports. The 6-foot-4 point guard ranked as the No. 47 overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting class.”

And, the site The Field of 68 is also reporting Dual will not return to the Friars.

“The talented 6-5 guard with huge upside will either transfer or enter the NBA Draft. He hasn't decided yet,” according to the site.

He averaged 3.3 points per game and 1.3 rebounds per game in his freshman year.

He was also involved in an ugly incident in November against Kansas St.

The game was marred by two player ejections in overtime, when Friars guard Garwey Dual hit Kansas State guard Dai Dai Ames in the face during a dead-ball situation. 

The altercation occurred in front of the Friars bench with coaches having to restrain players; Dual and Ames were hit with two flagrant fouls and both were ejected from the game.
