URI vs Albany

The Rams and Great Danes will meet for the sixth time in the history of the two programs on Saturday, with Albany holding a 3-2 edge over URI.

In the last meeting, the Rams cruised past Albany 31-14 on October 28 of 2017.

However, Albany has won both of the previous meetings at Meade Stadium, most recently a 35-7 win in 2016.

URI Offense

On the offensive side of the ball, junior Zoe Bryant rushed for 81 yards on 20 carries, helping Rhode Island to a total of 160 rushing yards in the game.

It was his first start at running back, after starting his career at linebacker.

Wide receiver Aaron Parker continued his catch streak last week, having now caught a pass in each of his previous 19 games.

JaJuan Lawson will look to build off his performance last week in which he completed 13 of 21 passes for 170 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

URI Defense

The player that the Rams defense will have to lock in on is wide receiver Dev Holmes.

In Albany’s last game against Pittsburgh, Holmes hauled in nine catches for 148 yards and one touchdown.

For the Rams, Branyan Javier-Castillo led the defensive effort last week with 11 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss against Delaware.

Freshman Tyler Wipper also forced a key fumble that would lead to the Rams go-ahead touchdown.
