Wakefield's Parker Ford Named to U.S. Hockey World Junior Team

Wakefield native and Providence College hockey freshman Parker Ford has been named to the U.S. World Junior hockey team.

Ford will compete in the 2020 World Junior Championships starting on Thursday, December 26 in the Czech Republic.

Ford is in his first season at Providence College.

On the season, he has six goals an eight assists, ranking him 5th in team scoring with 14 points in 17 games.

He ranks eighth in the country in freshman scoring.

Ford is ranked 210th in the final NHL Central Scouting rankings and is eligible for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Prior to PC 

After spending time at the South Kent School, Ford moved to Sioux City, Iowa to play for the USHL’s Musketeers

With the Musketeers, Ford was an alternate captain in 2018-19 where he recorded 19 goals and 24 assists in 56 games.

In 2017-18, Ford had eight goals and 14 assists with the Musketeers.

U.S.A in World Juniors 

Team USA’s first game is against Canada at 1 p.m. eastern time on Thursday, December 26.
