Rhode Island gas prices have gone up eight cents from last week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s August 7 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.36 per gallon.

“U.S. crude oil inventories are moving down, while summer gasoline demand is going up – the perfect storm for August price increases. All eyes are on the meeting of OPEC nations to see what changes if any will be made to their current production cutbacks,” said Lloyd Albert, Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs.
