Smart Benefits: RI Large Group Rates for 2018 Proposed

Last month, BCBSRI, UnitedHealthcare, Tufts Health Plan HMO and Tufts Health Plan PPO filed with the Health Insurance Commissioner (OHIC) to request approval for large group rates effective January 1, 2018.

The table shows the requested rate increases compared to last year’s requested and approved changes.

These figures are considered preliminary until OHIC completes a review of the filings to verify and validate the information.

Individual and small group market rate filings are due June 16. In July, OHIC will solicit public comment on the filings. It hopes to complete its rate review by August 1.
