RI's Young Classical Musicians to Debut at Providence Premieres

Rhode Island's young local talent of classical musicians and composers will present a program of new music in conjunction with the Providence Premieres at the Providence Art Club on May 29 and the Jamestown Arts Center on May 31.

Four world premiere commissions

Composers will present original pieces written specifically for Providence Premieres.

The concert features Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra alum Julien Touafek, Moses Brown alum Peter Ferry, and Singaporean young opera star Janani Sridhar. RI Philharmonic ​violinist Alexey Shabolin and harpist Hyunjung Choi will also play.

A multi-media experience

The 70-minute concert includes projected media and electronics. Interviews with the composers will precede each premiere, with a Q&A following the concert.

There is a cocktail reception prior to the concerts.​
