Sully’s Café at the Spot

Start tonight at The Spot in Providence where a gaggle of great bands will be at the 5th anniversary of Sully’s Café. Check out Daddy Long Legs, Ellis Ashbrook, Liz Bills and Analog Heart, Mary Scholz, and Sarah Ault. It promises to be a high energy rock show. Tickets are only $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Music starts at 9:15.

Tempest at Blackstone Theatre

Fans of Celtic Rock will not want to miss San Francisco band Tempest, tonight at the Blackstone Valley Theatre. The band plays high energy folk-rock with influences from Scotland, Ireland and Norway. They’ve recently released a new album celebrating their 25th anniversary as a band. Tickets are $13 in advance, $15 at the door – show begins at 8PM.

B.B. King at Lupo’s

Some musical icons are known by their last name, fewer by their first. B.B. King, one the latter, is in town tomorrow night at Lupo’s. The King of the Blues is 88 years old, and although slowed by age and illness, he still tours regularly. Tickets are priced from $50-$75 and the show begins at 7:30. Boogie-Woogie father-son piano duo Mark and Sam Tabor open.

Rossoni at Manchester 65

Sunday afternoon, a rock and folk show takes over Manchester 65 in West Warwick. Native Rhode Islander Mary Ann Rossoni, who has just released a new album, Edentown, heads up the bill with Midnight Honey and Skeleton Krew opening. With nice weather in the forecast, the show is scheduled for the outdoor patio. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 day of show for the 4PM gig.

SUNDAY LEGENDS – Beach Boys and Jerry Douglas

The biggest event this weekend is happening Sunday at Cranston’s Park Theatre where the legendaryBeach Boys ride into town. It’s a sure sign that summer is coming - read our full preview here. Show begins at 8PM.

Also Sunday, dobro guitar legend Jerry Douglas is making a rare solo appearance at The Met in Pawtucket. The multiple Grammy winning guitarist is the well-known leader of Union Station, Allison Krause’s band. His solo material spans musical genres and his latest release, Traveler, includes vocals from artists Eric Clapton, Mumford and Sons, and Paul Simon, among others. Local legend Mark Cutler opens the show at 7PM. Tickets are $25.
