Miriam Hospital Worker Reportedly Robbed in Daylight at Knifepoint Off Hope Street in Providence

A worker at Miriam Hospital was reportedly reported at knifepoint off Hope Street in Providence on Tuesday morning.

The retail area is comprised of restaurants, small shops and coffee shops and bars.

The area was featured for its livability by architecture critic Will Morgan.

About Incident

According to police, the robbery occurred in the area of Exeter Street and Glendale Avenue -- just off the commercial area at Hope Street and Rochambeau Avenue -- shortly after 6 a.m. on Tuesday. 

The victim was said to have reported the incident at Miriam Hospital.

Witnesses say they heard the victim being robbed -- and saw the suspect driving away. 

The subject was described as a male with dark hair tied back into a ponytail, operating a blue four-door vehicle with Massachusetts plates. 

Police are investigating.
