Providence Murder Suspect Turns Himself In -- Arraigned Tuesday Afternoon

The suspect in a May murder in the city has turned himself in. 

Quelon Page is being charged with the murder of Tyreik Grundy on Pope Street in May. 

He was arraigned in court on Tuesday afternoon.

About Murder

As GoLocal reported on May 15, Grundy was sitting in a car on Pope Street the Olneyville on Friday May 14, when he was shot and killed.

The shooting took place around 9 PM. 

The incident occurred a day following the gunfight on Carolina Avenue -- which was the worst shooting in Providence history.

There have now been 18 murders in Providence in 2021.

Over the past 15 months, there have been 35 murders in the city.
