Former PC Hockey Player Kleinendorst Passes Away Following Heavy Machinery Accident
Kleinendorst suffered numerous broken bones and serious brain trauma following a heavy-machinery accident in Grand Rapids, Minnesota on December 7.
"Despite the heroic and painstaking efforts of the medical staff at Essentia, Scot’s injuries were simply too devastating to come back from,” wrote his family in a statement on Caringbridge.

Kleinendorst at PC
Kleinendorst played hockey at Providence College from 1978 to 1981.
During his career at Providence, he played in a total of 120 games and scored 19 goals and recorded 74 assists.
His best season came in 1981-82 when he played 33 games, scored 11 goals and recorded 27 assists for 38 points.
He was named All-ECAC Hockey Second Team in 1979-80, and All-ECAC Hockey First Team in 1981-82.
Pro Career
After graduating from PC, Kleinendorst was drafted 98th overall by the New York Rangers in 1980.
During his pro career, he also played for the Hartford Whalers and Washington Capitals.
In total, Kleinendorst played 281 career NHL games and scored 12 goals, recorded 46 assists and had 58 points.
