Brown Blown Out by Columbia 76-59 at Home

The Brown Bears men's basketball team (11-15, 2-7 Ivy) fell 76-59 to the (12-11, 4-5 Ivy) Columbia Lions on Friday night at the Pizzitola Center. The Bears lose the first of their four straight home games as Columbia sweeps the season series.

With the game tied at six, Columbia went on a 15-6 run to go up 21-12 with 10:24 left in the half. Cedric Kuakumensah nailed a three pointer to cut the Brown deficit to 21-16 but the Lions would then go on a 10-0 run to blow the game open at 31-16.

Columbia would lead by 20 at the half, 48-28, and cruise to the victory in the second half. The Bears would not get closer then 14 points. 

Cedric Kuakumensah led Brown with 20 points and six rebounds in the game while Rafael Maia followed up with 14 and six rebounds. 

Columbia was led by Maodo Lo who netted a game high 35 points. Lo's 35 points is the highest any Ivy League player has scored this season. 

Brown returns to action on Saturday night when they host the Cornell Big Red at the Pizzitola Center. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
