With 6:44 left to play in the game, Brown trailed Columbia 64-63 after Steven Spieth knocked down two free throws. However, once again the Brown offense would disappear and Columbia would go on a 21-2 run to win the game 86 - 65.

Columbia was led by Klye Castlin who had a game high 21 points.
Brown returns to action on Friday, February 6 when they host Harvard at the Pizzitola Center. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.

Five Takeaways From Brown's 86-65 Loss at Columbia
Rafael Maia
Rafael Maia has done his part this season and for the most part did his job in the game against Columbia.
Maia netted 10 points on 2-of-4 shooting from the field and grabbed four rebounds.
However, he missed six of the 12 free throws that he took and the Bears as a team shot 60 % from the free throw line.
Kuakumensah
After have a couple of games where he was pretty much a no show, Cedric Kuakumensah seemed to return to form in this one.
Kuakumensah had 13 points on 5-of-15 shooting from the field and pulled down 11 rebounds and swatted three shots aways.
This is the first time in four games in which Kuakumensah has reached double-figures in scoring.
Weak Bench
With Leland King no longer on the team, J.R. Hobbie has moved into the starting lineup for the Bears leaving their bench really short.
Brown's bench only put up six points in the game against Columbia. Dockery Walker had four points and Tyler Wiliams had two.
Meanwhile, Columbia's bench put up 22 points.
Turnovers
Tavon Blackmon helped lead Brown with 13 points in the game and he also dished out 7 assists. However, his five turnovers overshadow everything.
Blackmon had five of the teams 12 turnovers resulting in 16 points off turnovers for Columbia.
The Bears had six turnovers in the first half and six turnovers in the second half.
Meanwhile, Columbia only turned the ball over seven times, resulting in four points for Brown.
Vanishing offense

Against Columbia, Brown missed five free throws and six three-point shots along with a few lay-ups in the stretch when they went scoreless.
This is the second straight game in which the Brown offense has just completely vanished late in the second half.
