Brown Edges Dartmouth 67-64, Earns 1st Conference Win

The Brown University men's basketball team (10-13, 1-5 IVY) defeated (8-12, 1-5 IVY) 67-64 on Saturday night at the PIzzitola Center. The win snaps a five game losing streak for Brown and is their first win in Ivy league play this season.

Brown led by eight, 56-48, with just over six minutes left in the game, but Dartmouth managed to cut their deficit to just one, 63-62, after Connor Boehm nailed a three with 34 seconds left. Brown's, Tavon Blackmon, then got himself to the free throw line and knocked down two big free throws to put the Bears back up by three at 65-62.

Blackmon would hit two more free throws a few seconds later to put the Bears up 67-62 and all but seal Browns first conference win of the season. 

J.R. Hobbie led Brown with 17 points in the game while Rafael Maia followed up with ten points and 13 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. 

Miles Wright led Dartmouth and all scorers with a game high 21 points. 

The Bears return to action on Friday, February 13 when they visit Princeton.
