Bryant Football Falls to Saint Francis 27-14

Bryant falls to Saint Francis
The Bryant Bulldogs football team fell to Saint Francis University 27-14 on Saturday afternoon in Loretto, Pennsylvania.

"I think the kids really stuck together well after we started the game so poorly in all three phases. To watch them to play so well defensively and special teams wise in the second half, I'm pleased by that. Our seniors were great leaders even when things weren't going well. There is a lot to build on. We got a chance to step on Beirne Stadium and we'll learn from this and get better. If we hit and play like we did in the second half we'll have a good shot," said Bryant head coach James Perry after the game.

The loss drops Bryant to 5-4 on the season, while Saint Francis improves to 4-5 overall.

After trailing 17-0 in the first quarter, the Bulldogs rallied to cut the Red Flash’s lead to three 17-14 in the second quarter.

Bryant got on the board when quarterback Timothy Graham found Nislvocchia for a 58-yard touchdown pass to make it 17-7 following an extra point from Luke Samperi.

The Bulldogs would get within three when Graham would connect with Tom Kennedy on a 13-yard touchdown pass with 13 seconds left in the half to make it 17-14 after a Samperi extra point.

Graham finished the game with 13 completions for 187 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

However, Saint Francis would extend their lead just before the half.

With 15 seconds left, the Red Flash’s Bear Fenmore threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Jahsim Floyd for a touchdown to put Saint Francis up 24-14 after the extra point.

After neither team got on the board in the third quarter, Saint Francis would add a field goal in fourth to take a 27-14 lead.
