Patriots Re-Acquire Hoyer to be Brady's Backup

Hoyer and the Patriots agreed to a three-year deal just two days after New England traded Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers.

He served as Brady’s backup through 2011 before playing for the Steelers, Cardinals, Steelers, Cardinals, Browns, Texans, Bears and the 49ers.
Hoyer played in a total of 13 games for the Patriots completing 27 of 43 passes for 286 yards and one touchdown.
In his career, he has played in 55 games and started 37 of them. He has completed 833 passes for 9,853 yards and 48 touchdowns.
Hoyer was released by the 49ers after they acquired Garoppolo.

New England has a bye week this week before returning to action on Sunday, November 12 when they visit Denver.
