PC Grinds Out Huge Road Win, Beat Butler 66-62

The Providence College Friars men's basketball team ( 12-4, 2-1) defeated the (11-5,1-2 )Butler Bulldogs 66-62 on Tuesday night in Indiana. The win is the Friars first road win of the season.

The Friars trailed by eight, 38-30, early in the  second half but battled back to tie the game on numerous occasisions but could never grab the lead until there was just under 2:30 to play when Kris Dunn knocked down two free throws to put Providence up 57-56. The Friars and Bulldogs traded the lead over the next 1:30 or so until Kris Dunn sealed the game at the free throw line.

Kris Dunn led the Friars with a career high 25 points in the game, 20 of them coming in the second half , on eight of 15 shooting from the field. Dunn also added eight rebounds and six assists, however he had seven turnovers. 

Ladontae Henton followed up with 18 points and seven rebounds for the Friars, helping to grind out a huge road win. 

Kellen Dunham led Butler with 18 points on six of 16 shooting from the field in the loss. 

Providence returns home to host Georgetown on Saturday, January 10. Tip-off is set for 12 noon.
