URI Lands a Transfer — Nebraska Point Guard Signing With Rams

Guard Jamarques Lawrence is headed to Kingston.

 

The 6’3” point guard who played for the University of Nebraska the past two years has signed to play with the University of Rhode Island men's basketball team.

Lawrence, a native of New Jersey, played in all 34 games and averaged 6.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

 

This past season he started the first 23 games at point guard before moving to the bench for the final stretch of the season.

 

He averaged 9.5 points per game while shooting 55 percent from the field and 52 percent from 3-point range over his last 11 games

 

This is the first URI signing this year.

 

Nine Rams have entered the transfer portal, and all are expected to leave the program.
