NEW: Gas Prices Down, But Still Above $4

Gas prices dipped down 2 cents this week—the first drop in eight weeks—but remained above $4 a gallon, according to AAA Southern New England.

The average price of regular unleaded gas was $4.03 a gallon, according to the weekly survey.

The last drop was on March 21. The current price is eight cents above the national average and more than a dollar above where it was in Rhode Island a year ago, at $2.94. The current average is based on a 24-cent range of prices, from $3.89 to $4.13 a gallon.
