Biggest single issue: the economy. Most other good things flow from a strong economy. Jobs, tax revenue for education, housing, and social programs- all need a strong economy to fund them.
The underpinning is ethics, which can drive new business and jobs away, or to here. Be it the actual ethical climate, or the perceived, the reputation of the state is essential.

2.  What do we need to do to improve Rhode Island’s economy?

To improve RI's economy we need to:
1 improve the ethical climate, and perception
2. to attract and keep busineeses and jobs
3. Improve, increase job training to match the workforce needs and new business requirements.

I am told that there are jobs that cannot be filled due to needed  training and experience requirements.

Part of this is the cooperation.collaboration between our educational institutions and the business community.

3.  What do we need to do to improve Rhode Island’s economy?

To upgrade our state's reputation and business climate to attract and keep businesses to stop the bleeding of our educated youth leaving Rhode Island.
We can move towards this by electing educated, honest, independent people to represent us.  Look at my opponents funding sources.
I have self funded my campaign so far, and don't owe any special interests or political powers.

4. Why Am I Running?

I had served previously and know that we can do it.
Having served on a School Committee, City Council, and in the State Senate, I have the experience and track record to do the job right. I served in various capacities, such as the first chairman of the RI Senate Education committee, sub committee chair of Senate finance committee, etc.

My record of successful legislation includes the Missing children's bill-which became a national model, as well as morphing into the amber alert.

Veterans bills such as the tuition free college education for spouses and children of RI National guard members who lost their lives in the line of duty,Senior citizen Pharmaceutical assistance bills, elder abuse legislation, grandparent rights bills, property tax relief (Automobile), and the Homestead act, which protects homeowners from losing their homes.

In a word, MORE  needs to be done.

I had served as the veterans' liaison while in the senate.

5. Who is my inspiration?

My parents and grandparents.
My grandparents came here, worked hard, became citizens, raised their children to appreciate the honor add responsibility  of being in the USA. All four of their boys served in the US military with honor.

They instilled in them and us the difference between right and wrong, our obligation to the community, fellow man and nation.

My parents worked hard, helped everyone who came to them, were involved in church and community as well.

I probably would not have been elected if it were not for the good name my parents and grandparents left us, and the good works they did.
