NFL Kickers Have Missed 17 Extra Point Kicks, Gostkowski Remains Perfect

As NFL players and fans begin preparation for week five of the season, one of the emerging story lines has been the extra point kick.

Prior to the start of this season the NFL moved the extra point kick back from the two-yard line (20 yards long) to the 15-yard line (33 yards long). The idea was to make the play more competitive, and through four weeks, that has been the case.

GoLocalProv has teamed up with GraphIQ to show this season's numbers. As you look through the charts, keep in mind that the season is only 4 weeks old and only eight extra points were missed all of last season.

Meanwhile the Patriots and kicker Stephen Gostkowski have been perfect so far this season going 14-14. The below chart, courtesy of pro-football reference, shows Gostkowski's numbers this season as well as throughout his entire career. In his career, Gostkowski has only missed one extra point kick.

The New England Patriots return to action on Sunday, October 11 when they visit the Dallas Cowboys. Kick off is set for 4:30 p.m.
