PC Basketball Receives National Letter of Intent from 3-Star Guard Alyn Breed

The Providence College men’s basketball team has received a National Letter of Intent (NLI) from three-star guard Alyn Breed.

Breed is ranked as a three-star guard, and the 48th best shooting guard in the country, by 24/7 Sports

He will join Providence in September of 2020.

"We are looking forward to having Alyn join our Friar family next year. He is a versatile combo guard, who can score from many spots on the court. Alyn also has great quickness and we believe he will be a solid defender,” said PC head coach Ed Cooley in a statement.

Breed is the first recruit to sign a National Letter of Intent with Providence for the class of 2020.

The signing period started on Wednesday, November 13.

About Breed

Breed is a 6’3”, 185-pound shooting guard who is entering his first season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Prior to IMG, Breed attended McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia for the 2018-19 season.

At McEachern, Breed averaged 14 points, six rebounds, and four assists per game, leading the team to a 32-0 record and a Georgia Class 7A State Championship.

The team also won tournament titles at the City of Palms Classic, the Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions and the Hoophall Classic.  

In the summer of 2019, Breed played for the AOT Running Rebels.

PC This Season

So far this season, the Friars are off to a 2-0 start.

Providence cruised past Sacred Heart behind hot three-point shooting, and beat the New Jersey Institute of Technology in their second game. 

The Friars return to action on Wednesday night when they visit Northwestern.

Game time is set for 9 p.m.
