PC Bounces Back With 74-65 Win at Creighton

The Friars led 23-22 with three minutes left in the first half when Jalen Lindsey nailed a three-pointer, sparking Providence on a 13-2 run to close that half and take 34-24 lead to the locker room.

Providence was led by Kris Dunn who netted 21 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed eight rebounds.
LaDontae Henton followed up with 18 points and three rebounds.
Creighton was led by James Milliken who had a game high 22 points in the loss.
Providence returns to action on Thursday, January 22 when they host Xavier. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

Five Takeaways From the Friars 74-65 Win Over Creighton
Tyler Harris
Tyler Harris was effective tonight netting 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc in 31 minutes of playtime off the bench.
Harris hit a couple of big three-pointers to extend the Friars lead just before the half and contributed in the second half to help PC keep Creighton at a safe distance.
Let's see If this performance builds back some confidence for Tyler Harris.
Carson Desrosiers
Carson Desrosiers has been up and down this season for PC and at times has found himself sitting on the bench for extended periods of time. Saturday night was one of his better nights.
Desrosiers grabbed eight rebounds and netted nine points while being a game changer under the basket, blocking six shots.
The only issue Desrosiers had was a little bit of foul trouble but he was able to battle through it.
Kris Dunn
Coming into this game, Kris Dunn had 27 turnovers in the Friars four true road games. In tonight's game, Kris Dunn only had two turnovers and dominated the game.
Dunn netted 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field, dished out seven assists and grabbed eight rebounds, once again flirting with a triple-double. Dunn also added two steals.
Kris Dunn is one of the best guards in the country and when he is able to keep his turnovers down, it shows.
An effective 2-3 Zone
The Friars played primarily a 2-3 zone in this game and just like they couldn't in the Big East Championship or in the first matchup this season, Creighton couldn't solve it.
Coming into this game, Creighton was shooting about 28 percent from three-point land and against the Friars they shot 36 percent. The Blue Jays got a little hot at the end of the game when the Friars had built up a big lead. Creighton shot 11(1-of-9) percent from three in the first half.
Creighton shot 40 percent from the field in the game.
Important road win
After not playing well and losing to St. Johns at home on Wednesday night, PC needed to bounce back and they did that with the 74-65 win over Creighton.
This was a game the Friars almost needed to have given that the Blue Jays are really struggling this season now 0-6 in conference play and 9-10 overall.
If PC can grab another two or three wins on the road, they will be in great shape come tournament time.
The Friars are currently tied for second place in the Big East Conference
