PC Holds Off Pepperdine
After leading by as much as 14 points midway through the second half, Providence held an 11 point lead, 67-56, with 6:26 to play after a three from AJ Reeves.
The Friars would see their lead trimmed to two on a number of occasions, the last time coming with 29 seconds left when Pepperdine’s Kessler Edwards got a layup to go to make the score 77-75.
On PC’s next possession, Alpha Diallo would knock down one of two free throws to give the Friars a 78-75 lead with 23 seconds to play.
The Friars' defense would come up big on Pepperdine’s ensuing possession when Duke would steal a pass from Ross over center court.
Duke would get fouled following his steal and knock down both free throws to give the Friars an 80-75 lead.
Pepperdine would get a jumper in the final seconds to make the final score 80-77.
