URI Gets First A-10 Win at Davidson

The University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team upset Davidson in North Carolina on Saturday.

The Rams won 70-45.

The Rams went into the game 0-3 in the Atlantic-10 — two of those losses were at home against a couple of teams ranked among the worst in college basketball.

But, Saturday against Davidson, it was a different Rhode Island team.

The Rams shot a blistering 58% from the field and held a solid Davidson team to just 35%. And, Davidson shot just 17% from behind the 3-point line

URI won every category.

The Rams were led by Keeyan Itejere with 18 points. And Jonah Hinton added 14.

The Rams are now 10-7 and 1-3 in the A-10. Davidson falls to 10-6 and 2-2.
