65-Year-Old Stabbed in Providence, Arrest Made

On Saturday afternoon, Providence Police responded to Somerset Street for a report of a stabbing.

The incident, according to the victim, occurred near the McDonald’s on Broad Street.

The 65-year-old victim told police that he had been stabbed in the stomach. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

Providence Police said they then located an alleged assailant just blocks away.

According to police, the suspect had blood on his shirt and was carrying a knife.

He was taken into custody and transferred to Central Station.
