At approximately 4:52 p.m. on August 3, the Attleboro Fire Department responded to the 600 block of Washington Street amid reports of a crash. Firefighters arriving at the scene found a vehicle overturned on its roof and three utility poles snapped. The sole occupant, described as an elderly driver, had been pulled from the wreckage by a bystander before emergency personnel arrived.
Attleboro firefighters and paramedics administered immediate care and transported the driver—who reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries—by Advanced Life Support ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital.
Authorities closed a section of Washington Street between Sullivan and Carleton streets while police continued their investigation into the cause of the crash. The incident also caused damage to local power infrastructure, with power outages reported in the immediate area.
